CHARMAINE BLAKE’S EMMYS 2016 ULTRA GOLD GIFTING SUITE

[Note: I made it out to five gifting suites, or lounges, that celebrated this year’s Emmys. As usual, each gets its own write-up because I don’t want you to miss even one tidbit.  This is the fourth of five, so please make sure to read the previous three and tomorrow’s, as well, to learn about all the fabulous-ness.]

For her event celebrating this year’s Emmys, Charmaine Blake chose a cafe in West Hollywood. It was headquartered on the front patio, with some of the fun also inside. I was happy to congratulate Charmaine of yet another gold medal for her little brother, Yohan Blake, of the Jamaican Track & Field team. He’s always fun to talk about!

Now, let’s let me tell you about all the fun I discovered at this suite.

The very first thing I noticed as I entered, (after Charmaine’s gorgeous new male assistant, of course,) was masseur Jason Chase, of Healing Massage Venice, giving someone a chair massage. Since a massage was the very thing I needed the most at that point, (from carrying all the bags from the previous suites that week,) that became my starting point. After Jason loosened each guest’s knots, he gave them a gift certificate, so that we could continue the treatment when we’re (and he’s) not so time-constrained. I can’t wait! www.healingmassagevenice.com

Then I moved on to meet the gift sponsors. Here are the highlights of those:

Vision Care Eye Massager—This is what everyone in this town needs! It’s heated goggles that do a vibration massage on the pressure points around your eyes. Just ten minutes should do it, to help ease the stress and tension from the constant straining of our eyes, for writers like me, especially, who are on our computers all day! And for actors studying scripts. And millennials who are glued to their phones. (Now all those latter peeps need is something to stop the Dowager’s Humps they’re creating on the tops of their backs, from all the hunching-over their devices that they’re doing! Just sayin.’) The rep also told me this device helps alleviate dry eye, which is music to my ears. And eyes, of course! (And more great news—you can charge the massager with a usb cable; the accessories are included in the box.) This item is a win-win-win!!! www.eacustore.com

Sarrela—These ionic-infused brushes, with textured bristles, are touted to also clean your hair as you brush. And who, (outside of Mickey Rourke and Johnny Depp,) does not want always-clean hair?! I just wish everyone in Hollywood would use one! www.sarrela.com

Eva Fashion—This couture designer was gifting lacy sequined lingerie—for men! Wow. That took me by surprise. www.evaeevae.com

Elbe Art—I admired this artist’s colorful paintings, especially the ones that reminded me of Haitian art. Though all her pieces feature brush strokes that are similar to each other, she appears to have several different styles of painting, and they are all very attractive. www.elbestudio.com

Native’s Organic Personal Care Collection—This new company was gifting little samples from their new skin care line. The duo was so sweet, calling each other “my king” and “my queen.” How could you not love them? www.nativesorganicsus.com

MCPA—I had the most fun with this group of women from the Multicultural Community Production Association, which fosters diversity in show business. (So maybe they should help me—I’m in a minority of actresses who are still rocking our own hair! No extensions for me, thank you very much.) They were gifting certificates for eyebrow shapings, along with couple of different books. And they agreed with me that little JT should have won So You ThinkYou Can Dance, so I stayed at their table the longest, lamenting the fact that he came in second. www.mcpa-promo.com

It all made for a fun, relaxing afternoon, which is just what I needed at that point in the week. Now excuse me while I go revive my eyes with that Vision Massager!
